Casting
For our Protagonist (woodland scenes/party scenes), we all decided as a group that I would be the most fitting for the part as I knew exactly what we wanted to achieve, and I fit the description we were looking for. We wanted the character to appear as vulnerable and innocent, which is the preferred reading for the heroes of Thrillers. However, we also wanted to challenge this theory by presenting her with a darker, more alternative side so that she wasn't portrayed as a stereotypical 'victimised' character. We decided that pale skin and blonde hair would be a good idea to look out for as they are pale colours that connote innocence and vulnerability.
Originally (February 1st 2015), for our Antagonist (party scenes), we decided that a complete contrast from the protagonist was necessary. So we thought that we were looking for a brunette female character, that could hopefully be tanned. First of all, we agreed to use Natalie's friend Sara as she dressed in a punk-rock type way, an had short black hair that already seemed to fit with the narrative. Sara was also easy to approach and work with, which would make filming with her easy to do.
However, due to timing being difficult to organise, we decided that Natalie would be the best person to film for our piece; esepcially as she knew the effect that we were going for. The fact that Natalie has brunette hair and looks very different to me meant that the antagonist and protagonist (villain and hero), were completely contrasting; creating the effect that we were looking for.
