The locations we picked to film our production were my house, and the woods in Barming nearby, (Oaken Woods). We decided on these locations as they were easily accessible, free to use, and everyone could get there without it being too much trouble. Luckily, the woods were only a short walk from my house, so we could alternate between filmng the party and the woodland scenes easily. 

 

We chose Barming Woods for the woodland scenes as the area had thin trees that were sparce looking, but close together; ideal for presenting the protagonist as entrapped. There are also a lot of dips and high hills situated in the woods; which were perfect for getting extreme high-angled shots to present the character as being trapped and vulnerable (predator shots).

 

My house has winding staircases and a spacious room, which were felt to be ideal for filming the scenes where I (the protagonist) were going to have to be led upstairs to a bedroom. The winding staircase made it easy to film the hand-held shots, and also get the low-angle shots to show the antagonist as superior and in control of the situation that was occuring. My house was also a small walk away from the woods; which made it easier and quicker to get the filmin done, with hardly any travel required. The colour scheme of my house is mainly red and white; connotations of passion, danger, and purity (similar to that of American Beauty), which were perfect for our narrative to portray the character as vulnerable and in a dangerous situation.
