Institutions
There is many large film institutions that produce thriller films, as the profit margn is high and it attracts a range of different target audiences.
Warner Bros. Pictures
"Warner Brothers" produce a variety of films under almost every catagory; as they are one of the largest Parent Institutions out there.
As Thrillers are one of the most popular genres of films, they have become famous for creating some of the best motion pictures attached to the Thriller Genre e.g. : Inception, Argo, Sweeny Todd , Gravity (brought in a $55.6 million turnover, from 3,575 theatres), and many more.
The ident has a bright and bold colour scheme, with a lare logo that dominates the screen. I feel as though this is because they cover a variety of dfferent genres so it is easily malleable. However, feel as though this doesn' fit the Thriller Genre as well.
Universal Studios
Universal Pictures is one of the most well-known Institutions, founded on June 8 1912 and has been producing ever since. It is split by two owners: General Electric (USA) andVivendi (France) and has distributed some of the most influential thrillers of all time. These include films such as: Public Enemies, Hannibal and Safe House.
The ident uses a contrast of bold and dark colours; with a bold font that is dramatic and stands out; becoming a brand identity. This idea could be used for our Ident as it seems effective in being memorable and aesthetically pleasing.

Paramount Pictures Corporation
Paramount was founded by Adolph Zukor in 1912 and is one of the the top selling and most popular Institutions in the world. It is also the last major studio in Hollywood and the oldest surviving Hollywood film logo in which appear at the start of every Paramount film.
It holds Number 1 in the market share at $3.7billion, and rpoduces a variety of different fims attached to a range of genres; including major blockbuster Thrillers. These include: Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, Mission Impossible, Top Gun, Eagle Eye, Deterrence and Disturbia.

Summit Entertainment
Summit Entertainment produce a range of thriller movies, increasing their production every year. They are reliable, and have been up and running since 1991. They are an American company, and were co-founded by Bernd Eichinger, Arnon Milchan, Andrew G. Vajna.
Their brand identity is dark and bold, with blue and white; showing power, connoting the idea of a drama/thriller. This colour scheme would fit well with our narrative, and also suggest it is a Thriller genre.

My Ident
All of the famous Institutions have a well known, recognisable Identification. They also change the design aesthetically to fit Thriller genres for big movies, such as Harry Potter (Warner Bros.). For this reason, we decided to create an Ident that fit the Thriller genre, and also fit the generic idealisms of a conventional Identification. We used a font that was bold but simple, and stood out contrasting from the rest of the image; also evident in the Idents of the Institutions above. We also used a dark colour scheme with the use of dramatic makeup, and a contrast of black and white; to fit the conventions of the generic colour scheme of a Thriller. The use of a female character is crucial as this is the preffered reading for a Thriller; whilst also being alternative as she is seen to look menacing; fitting our narrative perfectly.
